AIRPORT TRANSFERS

We strongly advise our guests to take up our transfers service to make the trip from Port Blair Airport to Havelock island as smooth as possible.  This return trip service includes airport Meet & Greet, A/C car transfers to the jetty in Port Blair (30 minutes), ferry tickets, A/C transfers from Havelock jetty to Jalakara (15 minutes).  We can also arrange overnight and day use Hotel Rooms, and private boat transfers, subject to availability, on request.

 

From October 2024 we are operating a boutique B&B in Port Blair - Harbourside is clean, bright and breezy, with three well appointed double AC bedrooms and a fantastic sea view from the Terrace. FLIGHT CONNECTIONS    

Last scheduled boats from Port Blair to Havelock leave at 2pm - make sure you book a flight landing before 12.30PM. Book flights from Port Blair to mainland India after 12.30PM to avoid an overnight stay in Port Blair. 

Please check with our reservations team in case of last minute changes to airline/ferry schedules.

Standard Room Occupancy Terms

i)       3 Night Minimum Stay     ii) Standard occupancy 2 persons     iii) Single Occupancy - No discount
iv)     Maximum Occupancy in Design Room - 2 adults + 1 child & Maximum Occupancy in Suites & Villa - 3 adults or 2 adults + 2 children
v)       Charge for Additional Adult Occupancy - Rs 3000 & Charge for Additional Child Occupancy (2-12) - Rs 2000
vi)     Accomodation is subject to Government Service Tax (Currently 18%)

vii)   Amendments to bookings are only permitted if advised over 30 days prior to arrival date and are subject to a 15% retention charge.

viii)  jalakara requires all guests to have travel insurance with coverage for trip cancellation and travel disruption.
Peak Season occupancy  Terms

i)        5 Night Minimum Stay      ii) No Check-In or Check-Out on Christmas Day, New Years Eve or New Years Day
iii)    Rooms are booked on a non-refundable basis    

iv)     Mandatory charges for Christmas Dinner & New Years Eve Dinner charged at Rs 6000 +GST, payable at time of booking

v)       No amendments to bookings are allowed.

Jalakara is particularly well suited to exclusive use with full staffing and total privacy. For groups we can tailor make unique experiences and arrange private jet charter to Port Blair from Bangkok & Phuket, and Helicopter transfers from Port Blair to Havelock Island.

Weekly rates are inclusive of tax, food, on-site activities and spa treatments and start at $15,000

BOOKING & CANCELLATION POLICY    

Payment in full is required to confirm a reservation.  ​

 

STANDARD CANCELLATION TERMS

cancellation more than 60 days before date of arrival -  90% of invoice total will be refunded. 

cancellation more than 30 days before date of arrival -  50% of invoice total will be refunded 

cancellation fewer than 30 days before date of arrival -  0% of invoice total will be refunded.

BAD WEATHER - In the event of delays to arrival resulting from delays or cancellation of flights or ferries from Port Blair  we are unable to offer refunds.  In the event that departure from Jalakara is delayed for the same reason  we will accommodate guests at 50% discount on prevailing rate

PLEASE NOTE THAT IN ORDER TO COVER UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES JALAKARA REQUIRES ALL GUESTS TO HAVE TRAVEL INSURANCE WITH COVERAGE FOR TRIP CANCELLATION & TRAVEL DISRUPTION.
